We updated this home’s deck. It previously had one large deck across the back of the entire house. It was made with cedar wood and required a lot of maintenance. 🚫
We made two smaller decks and used composite decking and aluminum railing.
👏We also use treated LVLs for framing our decks, not green treated lumber. This is an expensive material, but we are avoiding the warping that can happen with pressure treated lumber.
We probably aren’t often the lower⬇️ quote, but I can almost promise every time we are using higher⬆️ quality material, which alone comes with a higher price. Let alone the price of quality craftsmanship.
⭐️The best part- we don’t use cedar for our posts either. As of recently, Shawn has been welding👨🏭 and custom making our deck posts out of steel. We then paint them to match other exterior colors, usually the railing color. Our deck guy said it is brilliant and no one else is doing it….yet.
