My name is Tristan Marsh, the owner of Marsh Lawn Care. I believe in a lawn and landscape that is sculpted to the finest degree humanly possible. As a child I enjoyed playing outside, rolling in my lawn, looking for frogs in ponds and walking in nature. Around the age of 8, my grandfather would allow me to sit on his lap and steer the lawn mower with him controlling the gas pedal. My grandfather’s
method for caring for the lawn was basically just drive in circles until the grass is all an even height and then call it a day. However this was just not good enough for me. I insisted he let me drive the lawn mower and that I could mow it in a way that somehow would make it better but I didn’t know how. Eventually he gave in and let me drive the lawn mower. I broke the fence in our yard. Well at least I was taught an important lesson. Have insurance incase of accidents and don’t give up when you make a mistake. I kept mowing the lawn and developed methods for making my lawn and landscape look as finely detailed and sharp as possible. I tried every combination, practicing for hours at a time. I would mow the lawn twice or three times a week just because I could not wait to get outside to use the tools to try and make it look even better than it did before. At the age of 16, I purchased my first truck and first push lawn mower. Yes I said push lawn mower. Boy was I not thinking about a lot of factors in business efficiency. However it didn’t matter. I was so excited. All I wanted to do was work and help people make their lawn as great as I possibly could. I would kill myself for hours in the beating sun pushing through lawns that people left for months without maintaining and didn’t want to deal with. Well eventually I learned, and purchased better, faster equipment that would allow me to turn my love of sculpting lawns into a functioning business. Now I will be honest with you, 80% of people who I have hoped to employ long term cannot use the tools to create a lawn or landscape to the degree, which I visualize and define as finely sculpted. It takes a tremendous amount of training in efficiency, hand eye coordination and instilling of pride and care in the outcome of the work you are putting in. We do not allow anyone to be in our service crew that does not match these qualities overtime and develop the intention for our existence as a lawn care and landscape service provider.
