🤎Hello Creative Souls
I’m enjoying some meditative watercolor painting in the studio and wanted to share l!

🤎I love stones - I have fond memories of collecting them as a kid at the Connecticut shore and Rhode Island beaches.

🤎The ones smoothed by eons of salt water washes and sun streaked hours.
The ones with bands of inlayed colors and stripes that looked as if they were carefully painted.

🤎I remember the facination and wonder I felt when I realized all the sand that made up the beach came from pebbles and rocks like those I collected in my pockets!
Nobody told me this I don’t think -it was something that just dawned on me one day when I was probably
11 or so… nature has always created a sense of wonder with in me.
This connection to nature didn’t just inspire me to become an artist it was the catalyst!
Nature told me I am not separate I am a creative being having a human experience!

What in nature connects you so deeply that the illusion of separation???

On this is a long one 😅

I’m feeling bullied right now by FB - here’s what’s happening
When I switch from my personal account to my biz page( this one here) this is what I see!
At first I was frantic because this is where I choose to connect more deeply & share what I am experiencing & creating as an artist.
I’ve had this page since 2017 and I value being able to share here
Here’s what I do to access my page - I exit out of the screen I shared in the post and go in a different way and all is fine with the account BUT if I press learn more FB promts me to pay 💰 to verify my account which I’ve already done as far as back ended.
Why it’s happening? Well here’s my theory - since I paid FB to run an add for recent event I was hosting it knows Im willing to pay money and wants more.
I forgot how much, but I refuse to do it because I feel bullied into it.
Sigh 😔 & it’s not a place I feel safe anymore

Furthermore my algorithm now makes me feel like posting is just a waste of time and I value my time like most of us.

So what now?
I need to do something different so I’ve been looking at
Patreon
And Substack
like a lot of artists!
I subscribe to many on both and find it worth while -
What I love about both is I don’t feel like a follower and personally I DONT WANT FOLLOWERS I WANT COMMUNITY!! 🙌🏻😊💓
What are your thoughts I’d love to hear from you?
Do you like either of these platforms?
Have experience with them?
Find them easy/ challenging to use?
In these spaces I feel I can share more content that will be inspiring to you and there’s more visibility which means more connection & a ways to cultivate more community!
I’ll be keeping you in the loop as to what my next move is and hope that you’ll continue this creative journey with me!
Warmly & with Gratitude 💖
Maureen

Another woman artist that I recently discovered and feel almost a sense of grief that I didn’t know about her earlier~
She showed with O’Keeffe in NY
But I think there was only room for one woman abstract artist at that time - 😞

Trail of Life (c. 1923) by Henrietta Shore

Henrietta Shore (1880–1963) was a Canadian-born painter who trained at the Art Students League in New York, alongside a young Georgia O'Keeffe, before settling in California, where she became a founding force among the West Coast modernists. Where her early work bore the dark palette of her teacher Robert Henri, Shore turned toward something more luminous and interior: semi-abstract forms drawn from nature and charged with metaphysical intent. Steeped in Theosophy and Eastern philosophy, she sought in petal, pod, and shell the elemental rhythms of creation itself. When she and O'Keeffe exhibited simultaneously in New York in 1923, it was Shore whom the critics praised most, a reputation that would fade cruelly in her lifetime, and only now returns to the light.

In Trail of Life (c. 1923), a sweeping crimson form rises like flame or unfurling stalk against a ground of deep midnight blue, tapering upward to where a single green seedpod splits open within a glowing, moon-dark orb. Nothing here is literal, yet everything breathes: the ascent of the red form reads as growth, as yearning, as the very passage its title names. Shore distills the botanical into the cosmic, offering not a flower but the idea of one, a quiet meditation on emergence, on the pulse of life climbing endlessly toward its own opening.

What flows within your heart and soul,
What scars your body carries?

The river of sacred flow
Washes away the pain and sorrow...
Guiding you where the forest speaks
Of the Silence within
That loves you just the way you are!
Please...please... remember that
In the darkest hour
In Loneliness
In fear
In days to come
When nothing seems real
When nothing makes sense...
I feel your pain
Your aches
In heart and soul
In body and mind
Yes... tested we are
And yet... the birds sing
The sun shines
The moon is brighter than ever
We breathe
We walk
We eat
We speak
We feel...
Oh, dear human
How great thou are!
In this very moment
Give yourself a big hug...
Wrap your arms around yourself
And say with your every breath,
"I don't lose hope
I have been through so much
I survived abuse, neglect, sorrow and loss
I will get through "this" too"
And so it is, dear Heart!
I LOVE YOU!.......................................

I’m so honored to have my art shared with Corina Andronache soulful words 💕

Know your Self,
your Interiority,
the landscape of your inner world,
so deeply and intimately
that no one, no institution,
no system
can ever Label you
or take away your Sovereignty.

Remember who you are
Stay close to the mouth of your Soul
Drink the elixir of life
Wisdom known by your heart
Waiting to be unearthed
Truth made manifest
Embracing your being
Your existence
With ambrosia from the depth of infinity
Your life lived over and over
Ancestors waiting for you to see them
To acknowledge them for breathing life
Into your own...
Through their courage and strength
Perseverance,
Strong instinct of survival...

You have it all inside of you
Reach your hand inside your heart
See your Self through the lens of time
Where time and space collide

You are not what your human eye can see
You are so much more

Step out of the linear mind
Speak to yourself in metaphors of love
As you speak to a lover
Nurture what hurts inside
You are fragile and strong in the same time
Lean in!

Listen to your life
You carry in your bones your ancestor's stories
If you pay attention
There is a tread that still flows in your present

Follow it
Unravel it...
Your truth is hidden at the core of many lives
Lived with courage by all before you
So you can be here now
To do the work
To remember who you are
Your interiority...
A sacred place to rest
To walk around the landscape of your inner world
To become so enamored with who you are
So no man, no woman, no institution
No system
Ever labels you...
Calls you names
And takes away your Sovereignty!.......................................
