When you’re swapping out old hinges and realize the existing screw holes + plastic dowels are in the wrong spot for the new standard soft-close hinges… 😅

And THEN you remember the doors are MDF, not solid wood.

You can’t just move the screws over and hope they hold. MDF can strip out over time, and that’s definitely not a risk I’m willing to take on a finished project.

If these were wood doors, this would probably be a much easier fix. But MDF? Different story.

Thankfully, a local cabinet maker came to the rescue and let me borrow his Blum hinge jig so I could accurately drill the new holes and get these hinges installed properly.

Sometimes the job is less about the painting and refinishing and more about figuring out how in the world do I make things work out. 😂

My latest commissioned piece is complete! 🤍

I did a little AI staging on this one just to help visualize the bed in a finished space. I’m still on the fence about AI staging. It’s not something I want to rely on often but for a piece like this, it really helped bring the vision to life.

This project was definitely a process. My client had started refinishing it himself, but some wood species can be incredibly difficult to stain evenly. Sometimes knowing how the wood behaves makes all the difference.

I’m so glad I was able to step in, rescue the finish, and help bring his vision to life. Seeing a project come together like this is exactly why I love what I do.

What do you think about AI staging? Helpful for visualization, or do you prefer seeing the piece on its own?

If you haven’t been watching my stories for the last week, you’ve missed out on one of the craziest transformations. I just finished this library room in a gorgeous house. When I started the project, I was left with an absolute disaster. Let’s just say, not all painters are built the same or as another contractor said while I was on this project, “Not all doctors are the head of their class.” 🤪 I hopped on this crazy train and took care of this mess!

New build cabinets, all finished up! ✨

This project checked all the boxes for me.

✔️ A repeat client (my favorite kind!)—this is the third kitchen I’ve completed for this amazing family!
✔️A two-tone kitchens will always have a special place in my heart. The combination of two timeless, tried-and-true colors came together beautifully.
✔️ And to top it all off, an upgrade to soft-close hinges. It’s one of those finishing touches that makes such a big difference every single day.

A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to transform these beautiful built-ins, and I’m still obsessed with the results. ✨

The color is Creamy White by Benjamin Moore, and I have to say—I can’t believe I’ve only used it a handful of times. It has quickly become my favorite white. Soft, timeless, and the perfect refresh for this space.

What a glow-up! 🤍

Exhausted to say the least! I’ve been working on this beaut for the last three days, outside, in 100% humidity and rain. Thankfully, it only rained for half of the day today and I got to finish it up.
