The skilled carpenter is responsible for completing a variety of job tasks involving general carpentry, finish carpentry, and framing. Outdoor work to include but not limited to, new construction, remodels, landscaping, roofing, and driveways. Job responsibilities will also require performing general labor duties when requested.
General Responsibilities:
• As an employee, you are expected to represent the professional image of this company as follows:
o The standard workday is Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm. Be on time to work every day, calling before the start of the workday if illness or family emergency prevent your attendance that. These are the only two recognized reasons for missing work without prior notice.
o This job is a career choice. It is your responsibility to learn and demonstrate knowledge and ability to advance your position and pay scale.
• It is every employee’s responsibility to be productive on the job site. If you have completed an assigned task, ask to be given another. If the supervisor is busy use the time well by cleaning up, organizing materials, etc.
• Safety is always first. As a team player you must learn the safety practices of this company and adhere to them.
Job Duties:
• Carefully study blueprints and sketches.
• Execute measuring activities.
• Cut, shape, and smooth the needed material.
• Build stairways, doors and window frames, partitions, and rafters.
• Carve and assemble furniture, kitchen cabinets, siding, and drywall.
• Install items where designated.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance.
• Layout floorings, roofing or drywalls ensuring they are leveled and compatible.
• Other general labor duties will be required such as new construction, remodels, landscaping, roofing, driveways, and more.
Job Requirements and Qualifications:
• Previous working experience as a carpenter for 3-5 plus years.
• In-depth knowledge of different with carpentry materials and techniques.
• Hands on experience with appropriate electrical tools.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
• High school diploma.
• Completed carpentry apprenticeship.
