Hutchinson Iris Club board president, Linda Dryden, attended The American Iris Society National Convention 2026, held in New Jersey & New York this May. Highlights included visits to the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Rutgers Gardens, Presbyterian Memorial Iris Gardens, and the gardens of Gary Slagle. She had the opportunity to meet with Iris lovers from all over the United States, and to meet with this year’s D***s Medal winner, Adam Cordes (for his tall bearded iris “Royston Rubies”). Next year’s Iris Convention will be held in Oklahoma City!

We appreciate all who made it possible for the Hutchinson Iris club to host the Region 18 Spring regional in early May. ...

We appreciate all who made it possible for the Hutchinson Iris club to host the Region 18 Spring regional in early May. Lonnie Capps featured the guest irises in his garden, which was the focal point of the day. Judging training was conducted by Ho**er Nichols, and The American Iris Society president, Bonnie Nichols (both from Texas) gave a presentation. Michael Kowalchyk of the Oklahoma Iris Society promoted the 2027 National Convention to be held in OKC.
