Yesterday was a fun one!
We were called out to safely remove a massive oak limb that had peeled away from the tree and become dangerously wedged above a fence. We were able to remove it safely without causing any additional damage to the property!
Since we had our lift on site, we took the opportunity to trim several low-hanging branches, improving both the safety and appearance of the property for the homeowners and their neighbors.

A low-lying area on this job site was collecting water, creating muddy conditions that prevented the builders from safely setting up scaffolding and ladders.
To resolve the issue, we installed a rock base to provide a stable, well-drained working surface, allowing construction to continue safely and efficiently. We also reinforced the adjacent hillside with additional rock to help control erosion and protect the site from future washouts.

Doing some weight reduction/branch redirecting. 🌳🌳🌳
Client contacted us about some heavy limbs that were over the neighboring apartment garages and about branches rubbing against the apartment complex.
We came in to remove the limbs that needed to be removed and did some serious weight reduction so the tree can continue to grow big and healthy!

Day 2 and 3
On day 2 we finished the bottom base layer and triple check to make sure it was perfectly level.
We then started to build the wall up! During this time we installed 2 layers of drain tile while adding in the correct filtration rock. A fabric barrier was installed between the filtration rock and dirt to prevent sediment from entering. If we did not do this, the drain tile would eventually clog/not flow right and/or the filtration rock would would not be able to drain the water resulting in a blowout.
On day 3 we installed our final layer of Geo-grid and last couple layers of block. The Geo-grid the the key anchor to building a long standing wall. Once the wall was completed, I was able to tie in the final landscape edging, get the rest of the river rock filled in and do the dirt work.
The client can now enjoy a perfectly straight wall that'll stand for many years.

Day 1: Today we started the removal and rebuilding of the failing retaining wall.
The retaining wall was leaning over a foot off of center point. It was under so much pressure it was starting to warp the siding on the house so we carefully unstacked the block to save the siding and window. The wall was so unstable that you could see and feel it move when you grabbed a block off of it. As soon as it was safe we started digging and we were able to see why the wall failed.
Improper drainage, Improper base, no fabric between the soil and filtration rock, no geo-grid on the tall part, no glue!
This was a disaster waiting to happen and im glad that we were able to prevent it from getting any worse! Time to start building the wall the correct way so itll last many many years!
