🖤💚❤️💛Celebrating Juneteenth💛❤️💚🖤
Today, we honor Juneteenth, a day that marks freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality.
Did you know?
📜 Juneteenth began in Texas On June 19, 1865, in Galveston, Major General Gordon Granger issued General Order No. 3, informing enslaved people in Texas that they were free. This announcement reached one of the last groups of enslaved people in the former Confederacy and marked the effective end of legal slavery across the South.
⭐ Texas led the way: In 1979, Texas became the first state in the nation to recognize Juneteenth as an official state holiday.
🌳 A place built for celebration: Houston’s Emancipation Park, a 10-acre park purchased in 1872 by formerly enslaved people, was created specifically to host Juneteenth celebrations and preserve this important tradition.
As a Texas company, we're proud to recognize the history, heritage, and contributions that make our communities stronger. Today, we celebrate freedom, reflect on our shared history, and look forward to a future built on unity, opportunity, and respect for all.
