🍂 Did you know?

Asphalt and cold weather don’t exactly get along! 🥶

As the temperatures start dropping, our asphalt season starts winding down. Both paving and sealcoating need the right weather conditions, and we’re not about to sacrifice quality just to squeeze in another job.

But that doesn’t mean we’re packing up and calling it a year!

We’re trading asphalt for fence posts and barbed wire! 🤠

We’ve already been spending some weekends working on fencing projects. Granted, most of that has been on our own farm, thanks to one particular cow who seems to think the grass is greener at the neighbor’s place. 🐄😂

So, you could say we’ve been getting a little extra practice!

As asphalt season wraps up, we’ll be shifting more of our focus to barbed wire and sucker rod fencing for the winter months.

Whether you’ve got a stretch of fence that’s seen better days, a new fence line you’ve been putting off, or a cow who doesn’t understand property lines, give us a holler! We’d be happy to come take a look.

A little different view of one of our recent jobs! 🎥

There was a lot of work that went into this one before the asphalt ever went down! Jordy handled the rock work and prep, our friend, Clayton took care of the riprap, and then Jordy and the crew finished it off with fresh asphalt.

Pretty proud of how this one turned out! 🖤

Check this one out!

Funny enough, this was one of the very first jobs Jordy bid this spring. The homeowner had some other major projects that had to be taken care of before we could come in and do our thing.

Well, earlier this week, it was finally our turn and Jordy and the crew knocked it out of the park. 👏

The homeowner was super pleased with the finished product, and we are too.

We’ll let the pictures speak for themselves on this one. 👀

And I’ll say it again… I’m just really proud of this guy and the work he continues to put out.

Another one in the books for C5. ✅

⚠️**DID YOU KNOW?** ⚠️

You see Jordy out on the job running the paver, but there’s a whole lot of history behind that guy.

Jordy started working in the construction industry when he was just 15 years old. What started as a teenager learning the trades turned into a career that has now included 12+ years in asphalt.

Over those years, there have been thousands and thousands of hours spent on job sites. Early mornings. Late nights. Hot summer days standing over fresh asphalt. Cold mornings when you really didn't want to get out of the truck. Equipment that didn't cooperate. Jobs that didn't go exactly according to plan. And a whole lot of learning along the way.

He spent years working alongside people who knew the business, learning not just how to operate equipment, but how to look at a job, how to prepare for it, how to solve problems when things don't go right, and what it takes to get the finished product right. He spent several years running a successful crew, which is stressful in itself.

And honestly, we're very thankful for those years.

We're thankful he had the opportunity to gain that experience and knowledge before starting C5. Every job, every long day, every mistake, every lesson and every person he worked alongside helped build the experience he's able to bring to our customers and business today.

C5 may be our business now, but it wasn't built overnight.

It was built on years of hard work, experience and a whole lot of asphalt😂

And after all those years of working for someone else, there's something pretty special about watching him take everything he's learned and put it into building something of our own.

We're proud of him. We're thankful for the people who helped him along the way. And we're excited about where C5 is headed.

Well… we’ve been a little quiet on here lately. 👋

So we figured it was probably time for a little reintroduction.

We’re C5 Asphalt Works: a small, family-owned asphalt company right here in Mid-Missouri. 🛣️

Jordy and I were both born and raised in Miller County, and this area has always been home to us. These are the communities we grew up in, the roads we’ve driven our whole lives, and the people we’re proud to work for.

We started C5 with a lot of hard work, a lot of faith, and a goal of building something of our own that our family could be proud of.

Whether you’ve got a driveway, parking lot, or another asphalt project, we’d love the chance to earn your business and hopefully your trust along the way.

Our crew recently paved this new parking lot, putting down a smooth, clean surface despite working through a heat index over 100°. 🥵 (Anyone else ready for it to cool down?!)

Hot temperatures didn’t stop the job from getting done. We’re proud of the hard work, dedication, and craftsmanship our crew brings to every project.

We’ve been a little quiet on here lately… but there’s a pretty good reason for that. We’ve been BUSY! 🚧

We’re getting close to one year since we decided to take a crazy dream and really push forward with C5 Asphalt Works.

What started out as a “crazy idea that could be a good side job” quickly turned into a full-on business, full-time job, and an all-hands-on-deck kind of adventure. 😂

There have been long days, early mornings, plenty of challenges, even having some tools walk off on us along the way🙄, and more than a few days where the stress had us questioning, “Is this really worth it?” But there have also been so many amazing customers, jobs we’re proud of, and people who have trusted us with their homes and businesses.

And honestly… we couldn’t have imagined where that crazy little dream would take us.

So if we haven’t posted much lately, just know we’re still here!😉

We’re incredibly thankful for everyone who has supported C5 Asphalt Works, recommended us, hired us, shared our posts, or simply cheered us on.

Almost one year in… and we’re just getting started. 💪🏼🚧

We love getting to take care of driveways right here in our hometown! 🏡

This driveway wasn’t old or in bad shape, but the homeowner wanted to protect his investment and get the most life possible out of his asphalt.

We completed an asphalt patch and seal coat to help protect the surface, improve the appearance, and keep this driveway looking great for years to come.

A little maintenance now can go a long way down the road!

400 feet of handwork.
No paver.
Plenty of sweat.
Several questionable life choices.
Zero excuses.

Sometimes the toughest jobs turn into the ones we’re most proud of.
