If you’ve ever spotted a huge brown spider in your garage and immediately googled "Brown Recluse," you are not alone.

But here is the local reality check: they aren't native here.

If you live in Idaho Falls, what you’re actually seeing is almost certainly a Hobo spider. They love dark garage corners, and they run incredibly fast (and it always appears to be right towards you.) 🏃

Is it possible that a brown recluse hitchhiked over from one of its native area's and ended up in YOUR garage? Maybe? They are native to the South-Central United States and physically cannot survive our cold Idaho winters, so they don't live or breed here natively.

What we can say with 100% certainty, is if there's a spider in your garage, something it wants is close by.
