Call to Action!!!

We need your presence Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 7:30 p.m. in the City Annex Council Chambers, 680 Park Avenue, Idaho Falls. As some of you know, the city is looking at implementing impact fees to permit applications within the city of Idaho Falls. These fees/taxes are going to be significant and add to the cost of building in Idaho Falls. We as an association have spent a lot of time in discussion on these impact fees and are not in favor of the proposed costs that are being looked at. We are asking that you take some time to look at the impact fee study and how these new taxes are going to affect your businesses moving forward. We would appreciate your input on Thursday evening at the next city council meeting where they will be taking public comment.

The Idaho Falls City Council will conduct a public hearing regarding the adoption of the Impact Fee Study and Capital Improvement Plan, as well as the ordinance authorizing the implementation of development impact fees.

The hearing will be conducted at the regular City Council meeting on Thursday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m., in the City Annex Council Chambers, 680 Park Avenue.

If adopted, those who benefit from new growth and development will pay a proportionate share of the cost of the new public facilities needed to serve new growth through impact fees – assessed at the building permit stage – rather than new growth being subsidized by existing taxpayers.

EIHBA would like to introduce our 2022 Builder of the Month. Todd Webb with TWebb Construction.

I have been involved with the construction industry since I returned from college in 1994. Started out working with my dad and brother doing mostly subcontracting work. Over the last 25+ years, the changes in the industry are mind blowing. I currently own and operate TWebb Construction, LLC. The TWebb Construction team builds custom homes from Shelley to Terreton and Swan Valley to Aberdeen. Most of our projects are new residential builds, but over the years we have done a variety of commercial projects and remodels. The TWebb team firmly believes that the details make a difference in the build. I love seeing a project completed and seeing the joy new owners have in the dream we have been able to create for them.

I have been a member of the East Idaho Home Builders Associates since 2016 and a board member since 2017. I have served as President of the EIHBA, and currently serving as the chairman of the Parade of Homes. I also served for 4 years on the Contractors Board for the State of Idaho. I have also worked on the state level being Membership chair, and president chair. At first, I didn't believe in a need for the EIHBA and thought it was just another way to give away money. After joining and serving, I now understand that an association is necessary because it is continually fighting for the rights of homeowners, builders, and subcontractors. It is the small voice that is always there in the legislative issues. The EIHBA is there to protect our ideals, standards, and keep our way of life intact. The EIHBA has also been a way to meet other builders, share experiences and learn what others have done to continually grow their business. I have cultivated some great relationships from serving with others.

In my free time, I love to fish, hunt, camp and just be in nature. I have recently begun to travel a bit and I love seeing the different parts of our great country and exploring other countries. I'm especially grateful for a wife that tolerates all my crazy ideas! We have 4 beautiful children, 1 great son-in-law and have just begun our journey into grandparenting with 1 adorable grandson. I love living in Southeastern Idaho.
