Where Do I Begin…
This past year has been unlike any other.
For years, I envisioned what it would be like to work for myself. I’ve always been someone who excelled at figuring things out, treated people with respect, and took pride in doing my best both mentally and ethically. With 11 years in the pest control industry, I had built experience, confidence, and a strong work ethic. But in 2023, a simple conversation changed everything.
I had a regular client named Aaron, whom I serviced quarterly. We always made time to talk, and over time, our relationship grew beyond technician and client it felt more like a friendship. One day, he asked me, “Why aren’t you working for yourself?” I smiled, as I often did when I didn’t have an answer. He continued, “You do a great job, and you’re always smiling while doing it.” I laughed it off, but deep down, I knew he was right I had thought about it.
That conversation lasted two hours. Aaron encouraged me to write down everything I needed to do to make it happen. When I hesitated, he said, You’ll always have a reason not to start. You’ll always tell yourself, I’ll wait. But while you’re waiting, get yourself ready and that’s exactly what I did.
Weeks turned into action. I made a detailed plan, enrolled in school, gathered feedback from friends and family on my logo, and invested in my equipment celebrating every small win along the way. I met incredible people in school who shared the same dream. I’ll never forget staying late after my exam, walking out unsure, only to find out I passed on the way home. The first call I made was to Aaron, thanking him for believing in me before I even believed in myself.
After earning my certifications and license, I didn’t stop. I kept pushing forward. In May 2024, I took the leap I quit my job. It wasn’t easy I was comfortable, and fear almost held me back. But I knew what was possible if I gave it my all.
Now, here we are in 2025. My business has been thriving for a full year, serving over 160+ clients and counting. I didn’t stop there this year, I went back to school and earned my termite certification, expanding my expertise to serve my customers even better. Every day, I share my knowledge, experience, and passion proving that when you pour your heart into what you love, success follows.
Cheers to Year One and to many more ahead! A huge thank you to everyone who has supported me, asked about my business, or trusted me with theirs. This is just the beginning.
