In 1882, thousands of workers took an unpaid day off and marched through New York City asking for something we take for granted today — a fair workday and better working conditions.

More than 140 years later, Labor Day may look a little different. There are boats in the water, grills fired up, football on TV and hopefully a little extra time with family.

But the reason behind the day is still worth remembering.

⚒️ The people who build.
🔧 The people who repair.
🚜 The people who operate the equipment.
🪚 The people who show up early, get dirty and take pride in doing something right.

At Farmore Construction, we're fortunate to have those kinds of people on our crews.

Our guys work in the Florida heat, over the water, in the mud and sometimes in conditions that aren't exactly postcard material — even though the finished project might be. 😎🌊

This Labor Day weekend isn't about selling another dock, seawall or boatlift.

It's about saying thank you to the people who build them.

And to everyone out there who earns a living with their hands, their skills, their ideas, their leadership or their determination:
