The paper side of the insulation faces in, toward the heat. 🔌

That facing is the v***r retarder, and in a cold climate it belongs on the warm side of the wall so moisture from a heated shop does not end up condensing inside the cavity. The panel and outlets get roughed in before the walls close, so nothing has to be fished through later. Same crew does the wiring and the insulation.

Housewrap has a clock on it. ⏳

The wrap on this house is rated for about four months of open sun before it needs to be covered, and it was never meant to take a winter of wind on its own. So October is about getting the siding up and the corners trimmed while the weather still cooperates, and letting the house go into the cold closed up.

Slab first, siding second. 🧱

The porch gets poured while the wall is still housewrap, so the siding can come down and land on the concrete instead of stopping short and leaving a line to caulk. Do it the other way and somebody is cutting siding to fit a slab that is already there. A few minutes of thinking about the order saves a joint that would have looked wrong for the life of the house.
