Northeast side neighbors: the most common hot tub surprise isn't price. It's access.
A tub that fits the patio still has to get there. Measure the gate, the turn at the corner of the house, and any low branches before delivery day. If space is tight, ask which models fit your access. The Knight, for example, is 71.5 inches wide and is built to go through a standard doorway.
Stop by our Pendleton Pike showroom, 9820 Pendleton Pike, just west of Mitthoeffer Road. Planning guide: https://royalspa.com/hot-tub-installation-timeline-indianapolis/

A tub of ice is coldest the moment you get in and warming the whole time you sit there. You can plunge in it. You just cannot say what temperature you plunged at, or do it again tomorrow the same way. That is the real argument for purpose built equipment, and it is a smaller, more honest argument than the one the category usually makes.

Settle something for us. When do you plunge?
A) Right after lifting
B) Hours later, separate session
C) Rest days only
D) Whenever the mood strikes
There is a twelve week study that has a strong opinion about option A. Answer first, then read the article in the first comment and see how you did.

The cold plunge conversation is mostly about temperature. The research is mostly about timing. We read through the actual studies: a Cochrane review on soreness, a 44 study review on protocol, and a twelve week trial on what happens when you plunge right after lifting. The short version is that cold water does less than the internet promises and one specific thing better than people realize. Honest write up, sources linked, in the first comment.

The float center requirement nobody budgets for: ventilation.

A room holding up to 239 gallons of warm salt water, opened and closed all day, puts moisture into the air continuously. Royal Spa lists proper in-room HVAC as a site requirement on all three float tanks for exactly that reason.

Treat the HVAC as part of the tank budget, because functionally it is.

Open room or enclosed pod? If you've ever floated, we want to hear it.

Enclosed pods photograph beautifully. Open room-style tanks let you see the ceiling and sit up whenever you want, which matters a lot to a nervous first-timer.

There's no universally right answer, only the right answer for your clients. Which one would you book?

435 pounds dry. 2,400 pounds filled.

That's the Personal Float Tank, and it's the lightest one we build. The Royal Float Pod hits 2,600 pounds filled, concentrated in roughly 50 square feet of your floor.

Slab on grade and you're almost certainly fine. Second floor or converted retail space, and that's a question for an engineer in week one, not week twelve.

Heat slows you down. Cold wakes you up. People have been cycling between the two since the Romans built bathhouses around it. The modern version is a hot tub and a cold plunge, steps apart on your own patio. Here's how to build it in stages.

The third spa day is usually when it clicks: you're renting two tubs of water. Contrast therapy, the old practice of moving between hot and cold, gets a lot easier to keep when both temperatures live in your backyard. We wrote about how the routine works and what equipment makes it stick.

Run the numbers before you buy. Your hot tub's lifetime operating cost matters more than the sticker price. Royal Spa engineered every component for lower costs: continuous circulation, standard parts, 40-year structural warranty. No proprietary lock-in. No computer control systems to fail.

The purchase price gets all the attention. But your hot tub's operating cost over 10, 20, or 30 years will quietly outspend what you paid on day one.

Royal Spa's Hybrid system is engineered to consume the lowest amount of electricity in the industry. Continuous circulation keeps the water clean without the big, loud two-speed pumps competitors rely on. Standard filters you can buy anywhere for about $36. No proprietary parts locking you into one dealer.

We wrote the full breakdown: electricity, chemicals, filters, repairs, and the 40-year math.

Five minutes a month with a garden hose. That's your entire hot tub filter routine. Replace the cartridge every 12 to 18 months for about $36, from any spa retailer. Royal Spa's push-through circulation system does the heavy lifting so your filter stays cleaner, longer.

Most hot tub owners don't think about their filter until the water goes cloudy. By then, the pump's been working overtime and your chemical costs have crept up.

Here's the thing: a five-minute rinse once a month prevents all of that. And Royal Spa's standard cartridge runs about $36, lasts up to 18 months, and you can buy it from any spa retailer. No proprietary lock-in.

We wrote the complete guide: monthly cleaning, replacement timing, and why the type of filtration system matters more than most buyers realize.
