Dearest Gentle Reader,
It has come to this author’s attention that while Society already knows of this year’s arrangements, it has not yet been informed precisely why each gentleman was chosen for the upcoming social season.
It seems fitting that we begin with Lady Poppy.
Sweeter Than Honey Poppy is a doe who makes our human’s job rather difficult when asked what she would change.
Structurally, anyway.
Her strong opinions, on the other hand, we shall exchange words about those another day…
Poppy herself is sharp and dairy while still carrying plenty of strength, with open ribbing, a strong back, and a beautifully level rump from thurl to thurl.
And it would seem Society has taken notice.
This year alone, Poppy has collected two Reserve Grand Champion titles and earned an AGS classification of VG87.9.
Her VVEG86 appraisal came last year while she was nearly completely dried off—a fact that has our human rather curious to see what she might do at her next appraisal while actually in milk.
And milk she does.
Poppy is currently on track to easily earn her milk star, with the kind of capacity our human has come to appreciate tremendously.
Which brings us, naturally, to the gentleman chosen for her.
GCH Wood Bridge Farm Count on Me +*B VVE88.
When our human considered what she hoped Poppy’s next daughter might look like, she wasn’t searching for a gentleman to change everything Poppy already does so well.
Quite the opposite.
She hopes to preserve the strength and dairyness Poppy balances so easily, along with her open ribbing, strong back, and lovely levelness from thurl to thurl.
But there are also qualities our human repeatedly found herself admiring in Count’s daughters—particularly levelness of rump from hips to pins and beautifully supported mammary systems held snugly against the body.
And when one already has a doe capable of carrying the kind of mammary capacity Poppy does, the possibility of combining that capacity with even more support becomes rather enticing.
Fortunately, Count’s daughters have been making their own introductions to Society for years.
Among them is the 2025 ADGA National Junior Reserve Champion, alongside multiple daughters who have earned impressive class and udder placings at ADGA National Shows.
When generations behind him and daughters in front of him have already distinguished themselves?
Well.
One begins to understand why our human was willing to make the introduction.
So no, dear reader, this match was not arranged simply because Count possesses an impressive name and an impressive—very impressive—résumé.
The hope is much simpler.
Keep what we love about Poppy.
Pair it with what we admire in Count’s daughters.
And perhaps welcome a daughter who manages to capture the very best of both.
After all, Society already knew who Lady Poppy had been promised to.
Now you know why.
You nosy little thing 👀
Until the next courtship is examined,

Sir Twisted Tea has requested a brief word.
Should Lady Poppy’s Lap AI courtship fail to result in an heir—or, preferably according to our human, an heiress—Tea wishes it known that he remains quite available.
And apparently quite confident he can take matters from there.
