🍂 Fall is a key time to help lawns recover and get stronger heading into winter.

Coming up, we’ll be applying our 18-0-3 fall fertilizer with Armament technology to support root development, provide steady nutrition, and help keep nutrients available in the root zone.

We’ll also be applying our biological soil supplement — if it has not already been applied — to help the lawn recover from summer stress. With ingredients like humic acid, fulvic acid, mycorrhizal fungi, sea kelp, and molasses, this treatment helps improve soil activity, nutrient availability, and overall root health.

And for lawns that are thin or weak, seeding season is approaching.

What we do now can make a big difference in how your lawn finishes this year and how it responds next spring. 🌱

For a lot of office workers—OK, mostly middle-aged male office workers—a manicured lawn is as much a status symbol as a luxury car in the driveway.

Excelling at work and yardwork fits the modern professional’s fixation on optimizing everything. The office biohacker who won’t shut up about his sleep score may also blab about nitrogen levels in his soil.

Like a killer golf swing or rock-hard glutes, a perfect lawn is a way for people who make a living with their minds to prove they are good at something physical too.

And there’s a hidden financial flex. Hiring landscapers can achieve the same aesthetic and flash disposable income. But a trendy personal-finance axiom is that there are three levels of wealth: mowing your own lawn, paying someone else to do it, then…mowing your own lawn.

On Christmas night in 1776, George Washington crossed the icy Delaware River, leading a bold mission that helped change the course of the American Revolution. That courage, sacrifice, and commitment to freedom laid the foundation for the nation we celebrate today. 🇺🇸

This Fourth of July, we honor not only the Founding Fathers, but every veteran and active-duty service member who has answered the call to defend the freedoms we enjoy. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

From all of us at Total Lawn Care, we wish you and your family a safe, happy, and blessed Independence Day. God Bless America! ❤️🤍💙🇺🇸

🔥 The July heat is here—and more is on the way! ☀️🌡️

This past week has been tough on lawns, and the upcoming heat will continue to put turf under stress. Here are a few tips to help your lawn stay healthy:

💧 Water deeply, not lightly. Water early in the morning, 2–3 times per week, allowing moisture to soak deep into the soil and encourage stronger roots.

✂️ Mow when temperatures are cooler and keep your mower set high (3.5–4 inches). Taller grass helps shade the soil, retain moisture, and reduce heat stress.

👀 We’re seeing an increase in dollar spot and brown patch across Central Indiana due to the combination of heat, humidity, and moisture.

If your lawn is showing signs of disease, don’t wait. Our fungicide treatments can help stop the spread and protect your turf through the hottest part of the summer.

🌱 For a limited time, receive 25% OFF your first lawn care application AND 25% OFF your first fungicide treatment!

As temperatures rise and soil activity increases, now is one of the best times to strengthen your lawn from the ground up.

Our Biological Soil Supplement is designed to improve soil health naturally while helping our w**d control program work more efficiently. By improving soil biology and plant permeability, the turf is able to better utilize nutrients and absorb applications more effectively — allowing us to reduce reliance on heavier chemistry over time while still delivering strong results.

Using this biology-forward approach, we’re also able to reduce nitrate usage in our program by up to 50% compared to more traditional lawn care programs.

Our Biological Soil Supplement contains:

* Humic & fulvic acid
* South African sea kelp
* Molasses
* Mycorrhizae fungi
* Bio-nutrient package

Together, these ingredients help:

* stimulate microbial activity
* improve nutrient availability
* encourage deeper rooting
* improve water movement through the soil
* support healthier, thicker turf

Healthier turf naturally competes better against w**ds, especially during stressful summer conditions.

And if the last several Indiana summers have taught us anything, it’s that dry conditions are likely coming.

Here are a few important summer lawn tips:

Mow High
We recommend mowing at one of your mower’s highest settings during summer stress. Taller turf shades the soil, retains moisture better, and helps reduce heat stress.

Water Deep & Infrequently
Lawns generally need about 1 inch of water every 7–10 days during dry periods.

For irrigation systems, we typically recommend:

* watering 2–3 days per week
* running zones approximately 30–45 minutes per zone
* avoiding daily shallow watering

Deep, infrequent watering encourages deeper rooting and improves drought tolerance.

Building stronger soil now helps your lawn better handle the heat later.
