Celosia might just be one of the most interesting flowers we grow! 🌸

We grow so many different varieties, colors, shapes and textures—from fluffy plumes and Celway varieties to the crazy cockscomb types that look like little brains 🧠 or even coral reefs!

We’ve also been saving our own celosia seed over the years, which makes growing it even more fun. You never quite know what you’re going to get! Some of the coolest colors, shapes and mixes in our field have come from saved seed.

It’s colorful, funky, textural, amazing fresh AND dried…and definitely one of the most unique flowers in our field!

If you’re looking for elegant, soft pastel zinnias, you NEED to try Ballerina + Linen from Johnny’s Selected Seeds. 🤍🌸

Ballerina has the prettiest mix of blushy pink tones, while Linen gives you those dreamy shades of ivory, cream + beige. Together they make the most beautiful neutral pastel color palette. ✨

Definitely two varieties going on my grow-again list!

It’s September… which means we’re running out of chances to grab flowers! 🌸

We have just 3 Thursday Open U-Picks left for the season! Our $25 U-Pick cups hold SOOO many flowers—you’ll be amazed how many blooms you can fit! 💐

We’re also hoping to add a few more U-Pick dates once the pumpkins are ready, so you can come pick flowers + pumpkins all in one trip! 🎃🌸

Finally we got some much needed rain, but with it came some decent winds. We’ve had to do some garden clean up with snapped branches and more supports, but thankfully we didn’t have near as bad as other farmers in the area.

Don’t miss out on our Thursday evening public U-Picks! They are 5-8pm and start at $25 for a paper cup to fill or other jar/vase options.

One of the coolest flowers we grow 💙

Nigella starts with the prettiest TRUE blue blooms, and then as the plant matures, those blooms turn into the coolest little seed pods! We love using the pods for dried flowers because they add so much fun texture.

Pretty at every stage! ✨

We had a few guys out today cutting down an old tree by our power line, and of course we got to talking about the flower farm! 🌸 Turns out it was one of their anniversaries today, so he left with a fresh flower arrangement to take home. 💐

We love how this little flower farm gives us so many opportunities to meet new people, connect, and share stories. ❤️

Let’s welcome the DAHLIAS to the chat! 😍🌸 They’re finally starting to show off!

And unfortunately… the northern corn rootworm beetles have joined the chat too. 😩🪲 These little guys wreak havoc on our flowers and LOVE munching on those beautiful petals. But thankfully, they won’t be around forever—we’re hoping they’ll be gone shortly! 🤞🏼

For now, we’ll just keep enjoying every new dahlia bloom… preferably before the beetles do. 😂🌸
