How do you make a difference…

For the restoration industry, decisions are being made at the state and federal level that affect contractors, standards, insurance practices, small businesses, and ultimately the homeowners we serve. If the people who actually do this work aren’t part of those conversations, decisions can be made by people who have never stood in a flooded home, dealt with a complicated claim, or tried to help a customer navigate the aftermath of a loss.

The importance of being there is:

* Representation: Small restoration companies need a voice alongside carriers, large corporations, trade groups, and other stakeholders.
* Education: Legislators can’t understand the real-world consequences of policy unless people working in the industry explain them.
* Relationships: Advocacy isn’t just showing up when there’s a problem. It’s building relationships so lawmakers know who to call when restoration-related issues arise.
* Protecting consumers: Good restoration policy isn’t simply about protecting contractors. Homeowners need qualified professionals, reasonable access to services, and the ability to make informed choices after a loss.
* Participating instead of complaining: It’s easy to be frustrated with laws, regulations, insurance practices, or the direction of an industry. Going to D.C. and participating in the process is actually doing something about it.

You can complain about the things you want to change, or you can show up and be part of changing them.

That’s why we’re here.

Advocacy matters because the people making decisions need to hear from the people actually doing the work — and from the small businesses serving homeowners every day.

Today, we’re not just restoration contractors. We’re advocates for our industry, our businesses, and the customers we serve.

A burst pipe at 2 a.m. has a remarkable way of turning an ordinary homeowner into an amateur plumber armed with towels, a flashlight, and misplaced optimism. Drip Ninjas steps into those chaotic moments

Some days are just hard.

You work. You sacrifice. You solve one problem only to find three more waiting. You pour everything you have into building something—and the payoff still feels a long way down the road.

Those are the days when you have to remember: not every day is about seeing the reward. Some days are simply about doing the work that eventually creates it.

Building a business. Building a team. Building a reputation. Building something you hope will outlast you.

None of it happens overnight.

And although no lioness likes the show, we are driven. Driven by purpose, by responsibility, by the people who count on us, and by the belief that what we’re building is worth the hard days.

Today might not be the payoff day.

Today might just be a keep showing up day.

And sometimes, that’s enough.

🥷💧 Drip Ninjas — still showing up. Still building. Still driven.

Building a team is not for the faint of heart. 🥷

One of the hardest parts of building a company isn’t finding people.

Many decisions have hurt my heart but at the end of the day…

It’s finding the right people.

Along the way, you’ll lose some. Some won’t share the vision. Some won’t have the drive. Some won’t want the responsibility or the sacrifice that comes with building something bigger than themselves.

And that’s okay.

Because this journey was never meant for everyone.

We’re looking for the ones with the drive, passion, grit, and fortitude to go the distance. The ones who show up when it’s hard. Who want to learn. Who take pride in getting better. Who understand that excellence isn’t something you talk about—it’s something you demonstrate every single day.

Building the right team takes time. Sometimes it takes losing a few people before you recognize the ones who were meant to stay.

The goal isn’t to build the biggest team. It’s to build the right one. 🥷

🥷 In today’s episode of “What Are Those Ninjas Up To?”

Water damage happens FAST. 💧

And when it does, your insurance carrier may recommend a restoration company—but the choice of who works in your home is yours.

If something doesn’t look right, ask questions.
If the explanation doesn’t make sense, ask more questions.
If you’re told something is dry, ask how that was verified.

Water can travel beneath flooring, into walls, under cabinets, and through building materials where you can’t see it. That’s why we don’t guess—we inspect, measure, document, and verify.

Your home. Your claim. Your choice.

When your gut tells you what you’re hearing doesn’t add up… it probably doesn’t. 🥷

Ask questions. Look at the facts. Get a second opinion.

In restoration, assumptions can turn a manageable problem into a much bigger one. At Drip Ninjas, we don’t just accept what something looks like or what someone says happened—we investigate, test, measure, and verify.

Because 2 + 2 should always equal 4.

And when it doesn’t?

That’s when the Ninjas start digging. 🥷💧

We wont make the party on Saturday to celebrate but nonetheless we are so incredibly honored to be named as Runner Up in the Restoration category this year.
To be named Best in South Carolina earlier this year and also receive Runner Up in The Post and Courier’s Best of Columbia which was just announced is amazing and our team is so incredibly grateful. As a smaller independent company recognition like this means everything to us. Thank you to all those who have supported us and continue to support us. We are truly grateful!

From Best Bar to Biggest Media Hog, we tallied up your votes and declared the winners. The 2026 Best of Columbia results are in.

🥷 IN TODAY’S EPISODE OF… WHAT ARE THOSE NINJAS UP TO?

Bring your highly intelligent oldest daughter into the family business.

Put her on payroll.
Give her real responsibility.
Tell her to learn EVERYTHING.
Teach her to question things, expect excellence, and hold people accountable.

Then realize…

You basically hired a younger version of yourself. 😂

Suddenly, all those high expectations I’ve had for everyone else are coming right back at me:

“Mom, we need to do this, this, and this…” 😑

Excuse me, ma’am. I don’t remember hiring my own supervisor. 😂

But in all seriousness, I’m incredibly grateful to have her on our team. She’s smart, driven, constantly learning, and has already become a remarkable asset to Drip Ninjas.

The apple definitely didn’t fall far from the Ninja tree. 🥷

Like mother, like daughter. Be careful what you create. 😂

With permission to share…The text below received earlier today is why we do what we do. In an industry filled with constant frustration, moments like these make it all worth it.

“Shannon,

I’m sorry I haven’t written sooner. We lost [REDACTED]’s dad a few weeks ago and buried him Monday, so I’ve been in a fog.

We could never thank you enough for all you have done to help us with our house. The letter you submitted for us was truly a game changer and, according to [REDACTED], really put the nail in the coffin when it came to the questions surrounding [REDACTED]’s liability.

We had mediation Tuesday of last week and were able to settle out of court. We were made completely whole for all of our out-of-pocket expenses in all of this. Before your letter, [REDACTED] thought for sure we would be going to trial and that it would be another year. In his words, “Shannon wrote a badass letter on y’all’s behalf that answered every question the insurance company/opposing counsel had.”

So THANK YOU!!! You’re an amazing human being, and we are incredibly thankful for you 😭 Even if we didn’t get a dime of the money back, you were such a Godsend for us, and I don’t think we could’ve gotten through it without y’all

We love you!”
