Today marked a huge milestone at ACS Champions Craft Academy Signing Day! Thirty-two seniors officially signed with contractors across Alabama and are stepping into full-time careers immediately after graduation.

We’re proud to welcome three of those graduates to the Marathon Electrical Contracting team — Fernando Pedraza, Melvin Rodriguez, and Turner Hutson. Welcome to the MEC team, guys!

In its very first year, Champions Craft Academy has already proven to be a tremendous success — creating real opportunities and preparing students for high-demand careers in the skilled trades. The future is bright for these students, and we’re excited to be part of their journey.

Brandt Frye (left) of HENSEL PHELPS serves as chairman of the ABC Future Leaders Exchange (ABC|FLX), leading the 2026 programming efforts for ABC young professionals.

John Barnard (center) of M&D Mechanical Contractors, Inc. is our immediate past-chairman of the board, and serves on our Executive, Finance, and Legislative Affairs committees.

And Jackson Ingram (right) of Marathon Electrical Contractors, LLC. is the current chair of our Workforce & Education committee.
