The best crop of the garden year after year is HOPE.

I'm enjoying this pot on my front porch with ranunculus tulips and pansies. The Tulips have been in there a couple of years and are finally blooming. The ranunculus got eaten at first but now it's blooming again. I thought I better snap a picture just in case it gets eaten tomorrow!

I picked up these red dogwood branches someone had put on the curb and I stuck them in a pot of dirt. I've heard that they root easily. I'm thinking about sticking them in the backyard where I would like a hedge and seeing if they grow. Does anyone have any experience with these?

I assemble 3 new galvanized round raised bed for my frontyard potager garden. One will be for roses, another for dahlias, and the third for a variety of basils. Right now they look like big tuna cans on my lawn, but I will be filling them with compost and soil soon, then planting them up when the seedlings are ready. I have some roses to transplant into the rose bed. Now I have even less lawn to mow!

I feel like a farmer! I saved 4 bales of straw from last fall over the winter and am now adding it as mulch in my flower farm. I'm trying out the Ruth Stout method of deep mulching with straw to see if it helps improve the soil and reduce the amount of watering needed. We shall see!

I was very grateful that one of my neighbors was discarding this vintage pitchfork! It's perfect for picking up bunches of straw!

I'm on the decorating team at church and we put together this arrangement for Easter Sunday. The centerpiece with the 3 crosses is from Hobby Lobby and the plants were from Home Depot. The swag was from a friend.

I love how it bring the focus on why we celebrate this holiday. The crosses remind us of how Christ died to pay the penalty of our sins, and the flowers remind us of the new life he made available to us when he rose up from the grave.

All of the Gospels tell the story of Jesus and his resurrection: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Eye witness accounts.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to planting these flowers in the church landscape so we can continue to enjoy them year after year.

This hellebore is surprising me with how many blossoms it's putting out so early!
