I get so many questions about the headboard so here’s a more in depth look at it. I did glue the tongue and groove joint to secure the bottom and top pieces together

My biggest, proudest build was a king size bed made with only wood joints. No glue, screws or nails!

Using bent lamination for the first time resulted in some uneven runners. Next time I’ll be more careful about the width of my glue up but nothing a little elbow grease couldn’t fix. The rocking chair is on her way!

The sounds of a chisel are so satisfying. This chisel fits these mortises like Cinderella’s slipper

Hate to have to chisel but love the sounds of it! This Suizan chisel fits these mortises like Cinderella’s slipper

The MVP of mortising is Forstner Bits from Freud Tools. Cutting out the bulk before going in with a chisel means mortise making takes a fraction of the time and can be much more uniform without bringing in more big tools that I don’t have room for.

Now just some mortises to make on the back legs to attach the seat back and the main structure of the rocking chair will be done!

Shhh you guys! I’m trying to be famous

My first time bending wood resulted in uneven runners and 3/8” difference is huge in furniture making. Using the Speedframe from Ox Tools to get the most accurate measurements and a whole lot of elbow grease to get this rocking chair dialed in
