Today marked an exciting milestone with the groundbreaking of Phase 3 at Dana Point Harbor.

This next phase brings a vibrant mix of restaurant and retail experiences, continuing the harbor’s evolution into a dynamic coastal destination while staying rooted in what makes it so special.

What makes this moment particularly meaningful is the connection to the harbor’s history. The iconic flagpole standing at the heart of the site is crafted from the mast of The Pilgrim—the ship that called Dana Point Harbor home for almost 40 years. It’s a powerful reminder that even as the harbor evolves, its story remains firmly anchored in place.

For more than fifty years, the Pink Lady—a wind-sculpted Melaleuca nesophila—stood watch over Dana Point Harbor. Twisted and shaped by decades of coastal winds, she became part of the harbor’s identity and a beloved landmark for generations of visitors.

We were entrusted with the responsibility of relocating this remarkable tree - carrying forward a story of resilience, memory, and place into the harbor’s next chapter.

We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Elaine Wynn.

It has been an honor to work alongside her, and we greatly appreciate her contributions to many landmark projects—from The Mirage, Bellagio, Wynn Las Vegas, and Encore Boston Harbor, to name a few.

Elaine Wynn was a trailblazer whose influence helped shape the Las Vegas Strip into what it is today. As co-founder of Wynn Resorts and one of its largest shareholders, she played a pivotal role in building one of the world’s most renowned luxury resort brands.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her daughters, grandchildren, and many close friends.

The Pine-Covered Mountain – A Grand Welcome

We’re starting with the majestic, pine-covered mountain which is the first thing most people see as they enter this iconic property. Whereas the directive when designing Bellagio was to display its grandeur out front, Wynn keeps its secrets inside. The mountain greets guests and provides a shield from the bustling Strip. Designed for beauty and function, this 100-foot-tall structure, blanketed in salvaged pines from the former Desert Inn golf course, not only provides storage for essential hydraulic equipment, it creates nooks and waterfalls for adjacent restaurants, bars and clubs.
