Shut exterior doors and windows, close window coverings where direct sun is strong, and keep the temperature setting steady while the home recovers. Then watch what happens. That is because your AC is doing two jobs at once: lowering temperature and removing moisture. A few small habits help. Keep damp morning air outside when the marine layer is sitting low. Set the indoor fan to auto so moisture collected on the coil can drain away instead of being pushed back through the home. If the clammy feeling keeps returning, the issue may be tied to airflow, drainage, coil condition, filter condition, or how the system is cycling. Comfort is not only about the thermostat number.
