Legacy of Life
Deborah (Debbie) Kay Leonard was born in Dallas, TX on November 25, 1953 to her late father Huge Atteberry and surviving mother Elizabeth (Carlan) Green. Debbie passed away on October 26, 2024, in Oklahoma. Debbie is survived by her loving husband of almost 45 years to Steve Leonard. Debbie grew up in Irving, TX and attended Nimitz High School.
Debbie dedicated her professional life to invoicing insurance claims for the anesthesiologists at Mercy Hospital before retiring. She built and opened Country Days RV Park in Sulphur, OK along with supporting her husband, Steve, at Disco Automotive Hardware.
Debbie is survived by her 3 amazing children and 5 beautiful grandchildren. Son Bobby Lindamood Jr., wife Tami Lindamood, and their daughters Harper "Queen Harper" and Reagan "Royal Reagan" Lindamood of Colleyville, TX. Son Billy Lindamood, wife Kim Lindamood and their son Braden "Braden Pete" Lindamood of Southlake, TX. Daughter Jessica Wade, husband Caylan Wade and their two children Colton "Hot Rod" and Collins "Sparkles" Wade of Bedford, TX. Debbie is also survived by her brothers David Atteberry, wife Jeanette. Glenn Atteberry, wife Nancy, and sister Becky Hardin with late husband Ronnie. Also, several nephews and nieces. She loved them all!!!
Debbie was a true treasure to all. She loved to teach children’s Sunday school and loved teaching sign language. If you couldn’t find Debbie working at her RV park, she was volunteering to help the church or running on adventures with her husband (best friend), Steve. Most of those adventures were visiting her family in Texas that she loved so much. Debbie made sure to let everyone know that she was a true Texan and not from Oklahoma, but she loved Oklahoma as well. Debbie loved America and wasn’t afraid to tell you how much this great country meant to her. She was red, white, and blue all the way through.
Debbie’s real passion was to share Jesus. She would be quick to help in any situation, and with any person, no matter your status, and then follow up with sharing Jesus. Everyone who knew Debbie, knew she carried a light of hope and love, with the cross and Jesus shining through. You would hear her sharing John 3:16, talking about a free gift from God, and how easy it was to accept Christ in their heart. We know without a doubt Debbie is with Jesus. She lived for Jesus without fear.
Her family wants to thank each of you for caring and loving Debbie for her almost 71 years here on Earth. She now walks with Jesus, her grandma Nettie Mae, and a host of other family members. We can hear her now, rejoicing and singing his praises in God’s marvelous promises of eternal life.
Amen!
