Little sidewalk and some topsoil work in Tuscan Hills we did 2 weeks ago for a repeat customer. (Excuse the mud and dirt on it). We did her pool deck 9 years ago as well! Wow,. Time flies! Thank you Jen! 🙂

PSA! There are three AB Concrete’s, located in North and South Carolina, and one in Missouri (NOT AFFILIATED WITH US) and one (or multiples of them) is doing HORRENDOUS work, and it is NOT us (obviously). If you are from Missouri, or NC/SC, please do more digging on who you are hiring, because it is not us. We barely want to drive into Pittsburgh for work, let alone go 9-15 hours away. This has turned into voicemails of complaints, and now 1 star reviews being left for a business that’s not even ours

Again, we are NOT from NC/SC, or Missouri, we are from East of Pittsburgh.

Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers. Yough School District has suffered a tremendous and tragic loss. 4 teens from Yough lost their lives in a tragic and horrific accident in Yukon. This is my Alma-Mater, and this is horrific to see so close to home. I’ve driven down that Road hundreds of times and- Just wow.. My heart aches for the parents and families involved.

Please donate if you can spare it. I personally gave what I could.

If you have not heard, there was a terrible tragedy in Yough School district where four teenagers lost their lives. I have seen several posts where they are sharing the donation pages. I have links for 3 of them- if you would like to donate, please do. I am sure the parents would appreciate it. If someone has the link for the fourth child, please message it to me. **Working on ironing out a few more kinks in our Instant Quote! In the mean time, here’s some fun facts about the Type 1L cement we ALL have been forced to use for the last 4 years.**

• Type 1L (aka Type IL Portland-Limestone Cement or PLC) was pushed nationwide starting around 2021–2022 so the industry could cut CO₂ emissions by about 10%. Cement plants basically stopped making the old reliable Type I/II, and now it’s what shows up on every truck, from every concrete ready mix provider — whether you like it or not.

Here’s why so many jobs are flaking, scaling, and falling apart:

• Less bleed water + faster surface drying = plastic shrinkage cracks everywhere and super finicky finishing. Old techniques don’t work anymore.

• Higher water demand and finer particles make the surface weaker and dustier. Top layer delaminates way easier.

• Way more susceptible to scaling and flaking when freeze-thaw cycles + de-icing salts hit (hello, most of the U.S. winters). Michigan and other states started seeing it big-time right after the switch.

• Slower early strength gain and reduced durability in flatwork compared to the old stuff — even with proper air entrainment and curing.

If your driveway, patio, or slab is flaking left and right… this is almost certainly the culprit. And it is of almost no fault of your local concrete contractor, (yes, we’re even standing up for our competitors on this one), he or she cannot control what products are delivered, only the pouring process can be controlled.
