🔨 Walnut Ave — Full Home Transformation
Murphy General Contracting, working with Victoria Morelli Architecture, took this 100‑year‑old Rockville Centre home through a complete interior and exterior rebuild — modernizing every inch while preserving its character.
Interior Work
We expanded the first floor with a new family room + mudroom, installed a 6‑ft slider with transom, widened interior openings, reframed the dining room, repaired termite damage, and recreated original‑style molding. Every space was fully sealed with zipper walls and dust protection before work began.
Upstairs, the entire layout was redesigned:
• New kids’/guest bedroom
• New full bathroom
• New hallway connecting the second floor
• Second‑floor laundry room
• Brand‑new master suite with pocket door
• Master bath with walk‑in shower, bench, vanity wall, and private toilet nook
• Large walk‑in closet
• Additional bedroom framed in
• Ceilings leveled throughout for a clean, modern finish
Exterior Work
The old unheated sunroom was completely demolished and rebuilt with new footings and framing. We added a full second‑floor extension, extended the chimney to meet code, installed all‑new windows, and wrapped the home in Hardie Board siding — 7” horizontal below and cedar‑style shakes above. The front porch is being modernized with new lattice, trim, and 10” round columns while reusing the existing railings.
A full transformation — inside and out — built to last.
