The Forte–Gramercy Joint Venture, alongside the MTA, Lead Designer Stantec, and the Naik–STV JV PMC team, continues to advance construction on EL 414 at Flushing-Main Street Station as part of the 37 Elevators Project. EL 414 is a street-to-platform elevator connecting Roosevelt Avenue and the 7-line platform.

Current work is focused within the hoistway and Elevator Machine Room, where teams are installing conduit runs, switch boxes, and other components that will support operation of the modernized elevator system.

One of the most notable aspects of the project is the depth of the hoistway, which extends nearly 38 feet from street level to the platform below. At street level, the entrance serving EL 414 will incorporate the curved canopy design introduced during Phase 3. Unlike the straight canopies used on earlier phases, the updated design was selected to enhance the appearance of the street-level structure.

Forest Hills LIRR Station is beginning to take on a new look as newly completed platform extensions and the new south-side ramp are now open to riders.

Delivered in collaboration with MTA Construction & Development (MTA C&D), the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR), and Lead Designer AECOM, these improvements are part of the ongoing modernization of one of the LIRR's most architecturally and historically significant stations.

While riders begin utilizing the new platform extensions, teams continue reconstruction of the original platform areas, alongside ongoing construction of the new Ascan Avenue ramp. Once complete, the fully reconstructed platforms will accommodate longer trains, increase passenger capacity, and improve access while preserving the station's historic character.

The 19 Elevators Project has reached substantial completion.

Delivered ahead of schedule in collaboration with the MTA and Lead Designer Goldman Copeland, the project successfully replaced 19 elevators across eight stations throughout Manhattan and Queens, improving accessibility for riders across the transit system.

Over the course of the project, teams modernized aging elevator systems at some of New York City's busiest transit hubs while maintaining service in active station environments.

At Forte, we believe that inspiring the next generation is just as important as building the projects that shape our communities.

On May 29, our Assistant Project Manager, Ansh, participated in the annual Career Day at MS 210Q, where he presented to three classes and introduced students to the many rewarding career opportunities available within the construction industry.

Drawing from his own journey from engineer to assistant project manager, Ansh shared firsthand insights into the diverse roles that contribute to successful construction projects. Through interactive discussions, demonstrations of personal protective equipment (PPE), and an overview of construction safety and project delivery, he helped students connect their interests and strengths to potential future career paths.

As a lifelong New Yorker who attended high school just minutes from the school, Ansh provided a relatable example of what is possible through hard work, education, and determination. His story resonated with students, sparking meaningful conversations and enthusiastic participation throughout the day.

The experience was both rewarding and inspiring. Seeing students ask thoughtful questions, engage with the material, and leave with a greater appreciation for the impact and opportunities within the construction industry reinforced the importance of investing in our future workforce.
We are proud of Ansh for representing Forte Construction and helping inspire the next generation of builders, engineers, project managers, and industry leaders. A special thank you to Tamanna Saidi at Queens Community House for introducing Forte to MS 210Q and providing us with the opportunity to participate in this meaningful event.
