October Dealer Tip: Lock in Maintenance Agreements Before the Heating Rush 🔥

Your customers are about to turn on their furnaces for the first time in months, which makes October the best time of year to sell maintenance agreements.
Here's how to make it work:
✅ Call or text every customer who had an AC tune-up this spring and offer a fall furnace check as part of an annual plan
✅ Train techs to mention the plan on every service call: "This visit would've been included with our comfort club"
✅ Offer perks like priority scheduling during cold snaps, no overtime fees, and a discount on repairs
✅ Tie it to Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 4–10) with a CO and heat exchanger safety check

Agreement customers bring steady revenue through the slow months, stay loyal, and are the first people you'll call when it's time to replace equipment.

With homes closing up for the season, homeowners are breathing more recirculated air. That makes October the perfect time to talk IAQ.

1️⃣ Upgrade the filter: Swap basic filters for high-MERV media filters on every service call.
2️⃣ Add a whole-home humidifier: Dry winter air is coming. Offer relief for dry skin, static, and irritated sinuses.
3️⃣ Recommend UV lights or air purifiers: They help reduce germs, mold, and allergens during cold and flu season.
4️⃣ Test the air: An IAQ monitor or quick air test gives customers real numbers and makes the conversation easy.
5️⃣ Bring in fresh air: ERVs and HRVs ventilate tight homes without losing comfort or efficiency.
