Not every home’s front entrance actually works well for everyday life.
This one didn’t—and it made coming and going from the house more difficult than it needed to be.
This addition project in the Town of Ithaca was designed to solve a very practical problem: the home’s original front entry simply didn’t function well for everyday use or bad weather.
The homeowners wanted a more welcoming, protected entrance that would feel intentional and improve how they entered the home day to day.
We worked with the homeowners and design professionals to help bring that vision to life by creating a new enclosed entry addition with large front-facing windows, side windows for additional natural light, and a more functional transition space from the driveway into the home.
The finished result adds both curb appeal and everyday function, while details like the post-and-beam accents and large windows help give the addition character and a natural connection to the existing home.
One of the nice things about projects like this is that they don’t just add square footage—they can completely change how a home feels and functions.
