Our highly scientific map has made a return today, this time regarding garden planting. We can say with some certainty that if you live south of US-10 (in green) you can plant your garden now. This morning is one of the last mornings we see in the mid range with temperatures in the mid 30s. All days upcoming look to have low temps in the 40s 50s and 60s. Now, we're not saying that frost won't happen again, because this is Michigan after all... but the pattern has flipped and instead of worrying about a week straight of near freezing temperatures, we may only need to worry about 1 or 2 days here or there.
North of US-10, even though the pattern has flipped I still feel there is a good chance of frost coming. The UP average last frost date is June after all, and given your northern proximity, cooler temperatures usually come out to play, even in May and June. I would be hesitant to plant yet if you fall in the red zone.
