That tub is the one the owners already had. Everything around it came off, down to the studs.

Behind the green tile sits the part nobody photographs: orange Kerdi board, every seam and
every screw head sealed over. That layer is what keeps the wall dry ten years from now.

Same bathroom, completely different life. Dated tile and fixtures out, marble-look porcelain, a black hexagon floor, and a floating vanity in. Every detail, down to the built-in niche and bench, was planned before a single tile went up.

1. Moving plumbing. Relocating a toilet, drain, or shower valve means opening walls and floors. Very doable. Not free.

2. Tile choice and layout. Large format, mosaic, and herringbone all install at different speeds. The tile costs what it costs. The labor is the real variable.

3. What's behind the wall. Older homes sometimes hide water damage or tired plumbing. We'd much rather find it on day two than in year two.

4. The friendly kind of scope creep. The new vanity leads to the lighting, which leads to the floor. Decide early how far you want to take it.
