Looks like a beautiful dry week ahead!
But there is a storm brewin' out there deep in the Atlantic that we're gonna have to watch.
When there are threats of Hurricanes I am often asked, "how can I protect my irrigation system?"

Check your irrigation system for leaks, damaged pipes, or malfunctioning sprinkler heads. Also, clean any debris from drains and gutters to ensure proper water flow.

Shut Off the System: Turn off your irrigation system at the main valve before the storm hits. Do not rely on an automatic rain shut-off device, as it may not dry out quickly enough to prevent the system from turning back on when the soil is still saturated.

Unplug or protect your controller with a good surge protector.

Disconnect Hoses: Disconnect all hoses from outdoor faucets to prevent pressure build-up.

Secure Components: Secure any exposed or above-ground pipes, or cover them with insulation.

If you're on a pump, you may need to move it to higher ground to prevent it from sitting in flooding waters.

Also, check that all low voltage wire connections are secured with waterproof wire nuts. We see this problem time and time again after flooding rains.
