Sanding between coats isn't perfectionism—it's how professional finishes stay smooth for years.
We lightly sand every dried coat before the next layer goes on. This removes dust nibs, smooths brush marks, and gives the next coat a mechanical bond that won't peel. On cabinets and trim, we use 220-grit by hand. On walls, a pole sander with 180-grit knocks down any texture.
Skip this step and you'll see every imperfection under the right light—or worse, feel them when you run your hand across the surface.
