Spent yesterday planting over 175 plants, finishing our Spring Clean up!!! Now to sit back and enjoy it!!!!

For those that always ask us: Time to prepare for our Forecasted Winter Blast - potential for 6 nights this next week for freezes which can damage many of our Tropicals and tender vegetation. If you cover with the proper BREATHABLE Frost blanket, you can leave it on while the temperatures rise during the day. Take the time to protect prior to Tuesday evening for most.
Remember to water prior to the freeze - but not during the freeze - this will keep the roots of these plants warm and wet. In Florida, the key to having your plants make it thru our winter freezes is to keep you plants healthy all year. That means proper water, fertilizer and pest control. If your plants are healthy going into the freeze, the chances are higher of them surviving the freeze. Unless of course you have plants that are not for our Region. After the freeze and our temperatures return to our normal Sunny, Warm, Blue Skies, it is not the time to cut back your frost damage. This only sets the plants up for future damage should we experience additional frosts/freezes prior to mid-March. (And we always do!!!)

With temperatures falling into the 20's for multiple nights, it is time to protect your plants. When they forecast multiple hard freezes as there are for Christmas weekend, those plants need wrapped just like those gifts you are wrapping. Make sure you use a breathable frost cloth. Stay warm!

This is what Fall looks like in Florida. The Camellias are beginning to show all of the color from now til early Spring!! Cooler nights and days wake up all of the plants. Just look at the color!
