Slab prep is finished and ready for concrete.

The strength of a slab starts before the pour. Footers are thickened areas of concrete that carry the weight of the home and transfer it to the soil below. Rebar is placed inside the footers and slab to give the concrete tensile strength and help control cracking. Wire mesh is then laid across the slab to reinforce the concrete and help distribute loads as it cures.

What you don’t see in the finished house is what makes it last.

Concrete day 💪🏼🏗️

There’s something about a slab pour that never gets old. This is the foundation everything else depends on and we don’t take that lightly.

A few quick facts about concrete:
• Concrete actually gets stronger over time, not weaker.
• Most residential slabs are designed to reach around 3,000–4,000 PSI strength.
• Proper prep (compaction, v***r barrier, reinforcement, and finishing) matters just as much as the pour itself.
• Curing is critical, concrete doesn’t “dry,” it chemically reacts with water to gain strength.

This is where a house truly starts becoming a home. We’re grateful for the opportunity to keep building in our community and doing it the right way from the ground up.
