➡️Thicker floors doesn’t make the floors better quality..

In the video, the planks that was left with dents is WPC luxury vinyl (Plastic composites) which means anything heavy standing on the floors will leave in-dents.
The floor is much softer and even though you’ll buy a thicker Luxury Vinyl, the material will still be soft.

With each year, new floors are produced with BETTER QUALITY!

The second floor is also luxury vinyl but it’s SPC Rigid Core(stone composite) which means there’s stone material in the planks making it very durable. Hitting the top with a hammer didn’t leave any dents.

Both products are Luxury Vinyl but the only difference is one is make from plastic and the other from stone.

When choosing floors, ask if it’s SPC or WPC!

Mixing different floors in your home has some drawbacks👇

1. Visual Disruption: It might create a disjointed or choppy appearance, especially if the transitions between the different floors are not handled well.
2. Difficult Transitions: Transitioning between different types of flooring materials can be challenging. Uneven transitions can pose a tripping hazard and may require additional materials or professional installation.
3. Limited Design Flexibility: Mixing floors can limit your design options, as certain materials may not blend well together aesthetically.
4. Maintenance Variability: Different flooring materials may require different maintenance routines, which could make it more challenging to keep your floors looking consistent and well-maintained.
5. Resale Value: Some buyers may prefer homes with consistent flooring throughout, so mixing floors could potentially impact the resale value of your home.

To install hardwood under a door jamb:

1. Use a scrap piece of hardwood as your height guide.
2. Undercut the door jamb and casing with an oscillating tool.
3. Clean out the cut area.
4. Cut the hardwood plank to size.
5. Slide the flooring under the jamb, leaving the proper expansion gap hidden underneath.

Pro tip: Never cut the flooring around the door casing—undercutting gives you a much cleaner, professional finish.

Veneer thickness matters…

a lot in engineered hardwood flooring, especially for durability and whether the floor can be refinished.

The veneer is the real hardwood layer on top of the engineered core. Generally:

* 1–2 mm veneer: More budget-friendly. Usually not suitable for traditional sanding, though a light screen/recoat may be possible.
* 3 mm veneer: A good residential choice. Can potentially be professionally sanded/refinished about 1–2 times, depending on the product and how much material is removed.
* 4–6 mm veneer: Premium engineered hardwood. Offers more refinishing potential and can have a lifespan closer to solid hardwood.

But thicker veneer doesn’t automatically mean better flooring. The quality of the plywood core, number of plies, finish, construction, milling, and installation system also matter.

Hardwood flooring…

is a timeless investment that brings natural beauty, warmth, and character into your home. It’s durable, easy to maintain, and can last for decades when properly cared for.

One of the biggest benefits of real hardwood is that it can be sanded and refinished multiple times, allowing you to refresh the color and finish instead of replacing the entire floor. Hardwood can also add value to your home and is a classic flooring choice that never really goes out of style.

Why we chose these LVP floors 🤎

We wanted a floor that had the look of real hardwood but could handle everyday life.

-9” wide planks — gives the home a more open, high-end look
-60” long planks — fewer seams for a cleaner, more natural appearance
-22 mil wear layer — made for durability and busy households
-Waterproof + easy to maintain
-Beautiful warm natural wood tone that works throughout the entire home

The wider and longer planks completely transformed this space. When shopping for LVP, don’t just look at the overall thickness. The wear layer matters!

Would you choose this color for your home? 🤎

What you see here is failed LVP install…

the planks were literally jumping and shifting. Push on one area, and the movement traveled across the room. It looked like there was standing water trapped underneath—but there wasn’t.
This is a major installation failure.

When an LVP floor moves this much, it’s often caused by an uneven subfloor, improper installation, inadequate expansion space, or a locking system that wasn’t installed correctly.

A properly installed LVP floor should feel stable and secure—not like it’s floating on waves.

This is why choosing an experienced installer matters. Even the best flooring product can fail if the installation isn’t done right.
If your floors are shifting, bouncing, or moving under your feet, don’t ignore it. The sooner it’s addressed, the easier it is to prevent further damage.
