Developed through a public-private partnership on land donated by the City of Key West, the project was designed in accordance with Historic Architectural Review Commission guidelines and draws inspiration from the city's distinctive architectural heritage.

From the crimp metal roofing and stucco finishes to the balconies and integrated public art, every element was carefully considered to create housing that feels connected to its surroundings.

At PQH Group Design, structures are developed as systems, where geometry, load distribution, and environmental response are resolved together.

In this canopy, a branching structural system replaces conventional framing, allowing the span to be achieved with greater efficiency and less material. The system is reinforced by a network of connections that distributes forces throughout the structure, informed by natural tensile systems such as spider webs, working in support of the branching logic found in trees.

This approach reflects principles of biophilic design, where natural systems inform both structure and experience. The canopy filters sunlight to maintain natural light below, creates shaded space, and provides protection from rain through high strength transparent acrylic panels.

The result is a system that performs structurally while shaping the conditions beneath it.

By positioning the Fieldhouse between the primary and secondary fields, the design reduces the distance between practice, preparation, and recovery, helping teams move more efficiently through their daily routines.

It is a simple approach, but one that has a direct impact on how the program operates.
