Another one in the books! Check out the final deck pour for Spans 63-64 at the 17th Street Bridge in Vero Beach, FL.

Coming hot on the heels of our final beam setting on February 12, these back-to-back milestones are a testament to this team's hard work. We are proud of everyone involved in keeping this FDOT project moving forward!

Progress continues on our North Causeway Bridge project in Ft. Pierce, Florida. We are working toward the western approach of the bridge with er****on of beams, installation of stay-in-place metal deck forms, and placement of the concrete deck.

If you look closely, you’ll also see the future observation deck under the new bridge.

We want to give a special shout out to our partners Shelby Erectors, Inc., HWH Transport, and EFCO Formwork & Shoring Solutions. We truly have an expert team of professionals working on this one. Great job to everyone involved!

We are moving some serious dirt in Mountain City, TN. Since mid-August when we started this job for Maymead Inc. (operated out of our Beckley, WV, office), we have moved roughly 115,000 CY of overburden.

To efficiently accomplish this work, we are using 4 CAT 745 haul trucks, a CAT 374 excavator, and shoving with a CAT D8 dozer. In total, we anticipate we will move 409,836 CY of overburden.

It may be a lot of dirt, but we’re not “overburdened” by this amount of “overburden” (sorry for the pun – we couldn’t resist)!

We're glad to have you on board!

We’re celebrating Israel "Izzy" Sidoroff, a recent Construction Management graduate from the University of North Florida! Izzy just completed his summer internship with Hal Jones, where his final capstone project was focused on the noteworthy KMCC Superfund project in Jacksonville, FL.

Since May, Izzy has gained invaluable hands-on experience building an OCSP (open cell sheet pile) bulkhead to contain toxic substances at the site. He spent his time mastering proper safety protocols and pile-driving techniques while honing essential leadership skills. We're especially proud of his commitment to water safety, as he is pictured wearing a high-visibility, USCG-approved lifejacket that conforms to ANSI standards. This specialized gear contains Class 2 reflective material, eliminating the need for a separate vest and offering a key benefit to those working in the Florida heat.

We're proud to announce that Izzy's hard work has paid off—he has accepted a full-time position with Hal Jones! Izzy credits his success to the entire crew's commitment to safety and for creating an exceptional learning environment. A special thank you to his leadership team for their guidance and knowledge: Fred (Project Manager), Richard (Superintendent), Nick (Foreman), and Bill (Surveyor).

Congratulations, Izzy, and welcome to the team!

HJC Project Spotlight - This current project is for the City of Jacksonville and named "South Bank Bulkhead Replacement". Some of us refer to it as the River City Brewery Bulkhead, because it is on the site of the old brewery, which has since been demolished. Sheet pile driving for the new bulkhead is underway, as well as the beginning of the anchor system pile work. This project also features a section of King piles, in lieu of a tie back system in that area. The bulkhead uses a cast in place cap combined with a fascia system, which the crew has begun casting in beds on site. Once HJC's work is complete, a new high rise and associated upland construction will begin.
