π Position Overview
Root21Rentals is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist (1099 Contractor) to oversee tool, equipment, and material inventory across our shop and job sites. This role is structured under the Standard Tier workload, ideal for managing a moderately busy shop with steady tool flow, weekly check-ins, and consistent field inspections.
The contractor must be independent, organized, and capable of handling inventory systems without direct daily supervision.
This contractor position follows the Standard Tier monthly pay structure, designed for a moderate workload.
Standard Tier Compensation: $400 per month (Flat Rate)
This monthly rate includes:
-Weekly Responsibilities (Included)
-Weekly shop inventory audit
-Weekly consumables checklist
-Weekly digital log updates
--Verification of tool sign-outs and returns
Monthly Responsibilities (Included)
-Full monthly shop inventory
-Monthly supply and materials review
-Completed monthly inventory report
-Field & Operational Responsibilities (Included)
-Up to 5 job-site inventory inspections per month
-Documentation of missing, damaged, or unreturned tools
-Photo documentation for field inspections
-Communications with contractors regarding inventory discrepancies
This pay structure is flat monthly, flexible, and fully compliant with 1099 independent contractor guidelines.
π Key Responsibilities Tool & Equipment Tracking
-Maintain accurate logs of tools, equipment, and materials
-Monitor tool sign-outs and verify timely returns
-Report missing or damaged items immediately
-Shop Organization
-Keep inventory labeled, organized, and accessible
-Organize tool and supply areas during weekly visits
-Update storage layout as needed
-Job-Site Inventory Checks
-Conduct up to 5 site inspections monthly
-Ensure contractors have assigned tools/equipment
-Document findings and report discrepancies
-Consumables & Material Monitoring
-Track weekly usage (filters, screws, blades, paint supplies, PPE, etc.)
-Provide restocking recommendations
-Maintain updated lists for material purchases

1099 Work Structure
This position is deadline-based, not hourly.
The contractor controls:
-Their own schedule
-The pace at which weekly and monthly tasks are completed
-When site inspections are done (within required timeframe)
-Root21Rentals assigns tasks, but the contractor works independently.
