example of one of our sunrooms. Bob’s Custom Windows and Siding, Inc. was established in 1986 by Robert Scieszinski. Bob’s father, Jim, had been in the siding business since 1947. When Bob bought the business in 1986, he expanded it to include replacement windows. In 1995, Bob joined the franchise of United States Seamless and began doing seamless steel siding. In 2002, he added seamless steel log siding to his service offerings. The business also performs work on doors, gutters, gutter guards, fascia, soffit, roofs and sunrooms.

We’ve been seeing the impact from last Friday’s storm around town. If you’re dealing with damage, we’re thinking of you and are here to help however we can.

Now that things have settled, it’s worth taking a quick walk around your home. A simple check of the exterior can help you stay ahead of any issues and give you peace of mind.

Here are a few things worth checking:
• If floodwater reached your siding, it’s a good idea to have it looked at. Water can find its way in where you might not expect.
• If you have vinyl siding and saw hail, try looking from the ground up. Cracks can sometimes hide along the bottom edge of each panel.
• After strong winds, watch for siding that looks loose, uneven, or has new gaps. Small shifts like this can lead to bigger issues during the next storm.
• Now is a great time to inspect the caulking around your windows and doors. Failing caulk can let moisture in and lead to hidden damage over time.
• Check for windows or doors that are sticking, showing condensation between panes, or have water marks or mildew around the trim. These can all be signs that moisture got where it shouldn’t be.
