Adding color and character to a yards landscape is one of our favorite things to do! Our spring installations have just started, and we are loving every one of them! Here is a before and after of an install we did this week. We replaced the builder grade bushes in the front yard with a Japanese Maple Tree, Purple Daydream Loropetalums, Sunshine Ligustrums, Everillo Grass, and fresh mulch. We also touched up the side yard with fresh long needle pine straw and added blue pacific juniper for erosion control.

SOD INSTALLATION🌱

This customer had a tree removed from this location and needed sod installed to match the grass that is currently in place! Here are the steps we took to complete this install:

- Prepped the area by removing all trash/debris and leftover mulch from the tree removal
- Leveled the area to ensure there are no problem areas once sod is laid
- Put down new topsoil to help the sod catch and grow faster
- Laid the new sod
- Rolled the sod out to make sure all new sod is even

With proper maintenance (daily watering), this grass will be lush and green just in time for summer!

What is deep pruning?

During the winter months our usual daily maintenance such as mowing and w**d eating may come to a pause, but we are still hard at work with other necessary projects!

Deep pruning is our number one task during the winter months. In the pictures posted, you can see that the bush has become overgrown. While it is dormant, we prune the bush back and level it out for a number of reasons:

1. To avoid overgrowth of the plant
2. To ensure the plant stays level as it grows
3. To keep the plant healthy

Deep pruning is best to do during the winter months while the plant is dormant. Once the spring and summer months begin, the plant will begin to grow back!

The latest that our company will deep prune any plants is April 15th as this is when the last frost is reported. If you have any plants that need a deep prune, give us a call and we’ll give you a quote!
