Cracked in a couple spots. Settling in another. So we tore it out and started over.

New pour, clean lines, proper joints where they belong. Graded so water actually runs off instead of pooling against the slab. That's the part most people never think about, and it's usually why the last one failed.

Concrete doesn't crack because of cold snaps. It cracks if proper expansion joints aren't added.

We fix that first. Then we pour.

Footers, walls, and making sure everything is set right before anything goes up on top.

North Georgia dirt doesn't make this easy. You've got slope, you've got fill, you've got water that wants to go somewhere. Get the grading and drainage wrong at this stage and you'll be chasing cracks and damp crawlspaces for years.

So we take our time down here. Proper base prep. Walls poured square and level. Drainage planned before the first truck shows up.

Everything above it depends on what's underneath.

This one started as raw land. First we cleared and graded the lot, got the site prepped and draining right, then poured the foundation. Now the framing's going up! The stage where it stops being a plan on paper and you can actually walk through the rooms.

Next, we move on to siding and the roof, and it really starts looking like a home.

This is what the process of getting land "ready to build" actually looks like. Trees and brush cleared. Pad cut into the slope. Footing trench dug, gravel on site and waiting.

Nothing glamorous. But this is the part that decides whether everything above it holds up.
