We couldn’t finish up a project without this sweet soul right here! He’s the one who comes in after hours and at the last minute, with a smile on his face every single time.

He’s the one who adjusts the doors, aligns the hardware, fixes a squeak, or touches up a scuff. When I’m looking a little stressed and wondering how to get all the things done by Friday, he’s the one who shows up and makes sure it’s done and done right.

We are thankful for him everyday, especially this week, as we say welcome home to our friends who have been remodeling for months and are ready to not see me in their space everyday 😅

This fall we're working on three new projects, and every one of them has multigenerational living built in from day one.

Families are rethinking how they use their homes and land. Aging parents want to stay close without giving up independence. Young adults coming home after high school or college need their own space. Now more than ever, we want flexibility for whatever life brings next, for us and our parents and kids.

A few ways we're designing for it:

🏡 Walkout basements with a private entrance. These make a perfect mother-in-law suite or a first place for a young adult who's not quite ready to move out.

🏠 Planning ahead for an ADU. Depending on where you live in the county, you may be able to add a second dwelling to your property. Setting aside the space and utilities now saves a lot of money and headaches later.

🔨 Future planning for Finished basements and garage apartments. Both add living space and long-term value without needing a bigger footprint. Think through what that would look like for your family.

The best time to plan for multigenerational living is before you actually need it. This is an element of design we plan to keep front of mind as we move forward into the coming years.

Walking into this kitchen is going to feel like home 🏡 🩷

Ifs so cozy AND beautiful - and we are no where near done! THIS is where memories are going to be made. This is where kids will bring friends, where the boys will bring their girlfriends over for the first time, where quiet mornings and hectic nights will be spent. It’s where tears will fall. Coffee will be made. And hugs will be poured out.

Everytime I would lay the sign down because a storm or the wind damaged it, I would come back and one of the guys had stopped and re staked it. 💕

It’s been 5 years since I placed the original sign and it took me 20 months to change it over. In a true moment of restoration, it’s time to break ground. This is jubilee 💕

I’m pretty sure I’ll frame the old JRC sign and hang it in my office. It’s been there through it all.

He was with me when I saw this land for the first time, with me when we bought it, fought me over it more then once, and listened to me talk about it until the day he met Jesus.
