Important steps to keep your water pipes from freezing.

Water pipes that are not properly insulated or maintained are at risk of freezing and/or bursting which could leave you without running water as well as cause flooding and damage to your home or business.

Swpms recommends the following steps to help prevent frozen pipes:

• Leave a pencil-thin trickle of water running in the sink to keep water circulating
• Ensure crawl space vents are closed
• Ensure pipes are properly insulated
• Ensure heat tapes are plugged in and functioning
• Turn off hose bibs, disconnect any hoses, and ensure they are properly insulated

In the unfortunate event that you do experience frozen pipes &/or busted water lines give us a call immediately!

With the cool weather we’ve been having lately here’s a quick reminder. Please do NOT plug space heaters into extension cords!

Always Plug space heaters directly into an wall outlet!!!

Extension cords/ Power strips are not able to handle the high current flow that a space heater can put out and can overheat causing a fire.

I cannot stress this enough!
