Apparently pulling a dandelion means I’m not a “real gardener.” 😅 At least that’s what someone recently told me. 😳

Good thing gardening isn’t a club with membership requirements.

Whether you grow flowers, vegetables, native plants, non-native plants, containers, raised beds, or a little bit of everything—there’s room for all of us here.

If you’re nurturing plants, learning as you go, and creating a space you enjoy, you’re a gardener.

There are lots of ways to garden, and that’s part of what makes it so wonderful.

One of my favorite garden tricks is planting for what comes next.

Tulips bloom first, followed by alliums. But both leave behind foliage that needs to remain in place as it dies back naturally.

Spiderwort steps in at just the right time, covering those fading leaves and providing months of blooms afterward.

The result? One small area that looks good from spring well into summer.

Do you have a favorite succession planting combination? 👇

One of my favorite memories from our wedding isn’t the flowers themselves—it’s the generosity behind them. Forever grateful for a community that was willing to help. 🌸

If you love the look of lupines but want something a little easier, Baptisia is worth considering. Mine returns bigger and better every year, attracts pollinators, handles dry spells once established, and the flowers make beautiful additions to bouquets. Plus, the seed pods and foliage keep looking good long after the blooms are gone. 💜

The peony experiment has been confirmed! They are definitely larger when the side buds are removed.
However, the stalk with 3 blooms that would be far bigger than a single bloom if you combined them.
I personally won’t bother disbudding but I thought this was such a fun learning experience!

I get it little man. There’s too much to do at home! But I love it that way!

We enjoy this space all year long, but there’s something special about getting it cleaned up and ready for summer. 🌿

The houseplants are back outside, the cushions are fresh, and the fireplace is ready for cool evenings. From morning devotionals and coffee to family conversations and s’mores by the fire, this little room has become one of our favorite places to be.

The funny thing is, we still call it the “hot tub room” even though the hot tub has been gone for years. 😂

So now I’m curious… what would you call it?

Resharing from last year in case you missed it!

I had an empty, beautiful hanging basket from last year, so I decided to reuse it and make something for the pollinators. I planted zinnias because butterflies always seem to flock to them, million bells for lots of color and hummingbirds, and lantana because everything seems to love it. Hopefully by summer this whole basket will be buzzing with bees and butterflies.
I can’t wait for my friend to get to watch them! 🦋 🐝 🌸

Every flower in this bouquet came straight from the garden

This is the kind of moment that makes all the watering, weeding, and waiting worth it.

A little bit from every corner of the garden, all gathered into one bouquet
