Just finished up this flooring job for a great homeowner.
A fridge leak caused the old flooring to swell and get ruined, so they filed with insurance and had us replace the damaged area. While we were at it, they decided to remove the old carpet and extend the new flooring throughout the space.
Once we tore everything out, we discovered mold and water damage in the subfloor, plus some damage to the lower cabinets. We pushed hard with insurance to get new cabinets approved, but they denied it due to the mold (we didn’t agree, but we worked with what we had).
We carefully removed the cabinets, repaired and treated the moldy subfloor, then reinstalled everything. We replaced one cabinet side panel, some base molding, and toe kicks. After a month and a half of back-and-forth with insurance, it’s all back together and looking good as new.
The homeowner wasn’t home during most of the work, so it didn’t disrupt their day.
Always a good feeling to turn a problem into a solid upgrade. 💪
