Tomorrow will mark 6weeks since my drill broke down. I have been fighting this absolute nightmare of a hydraulic issue since December of 2023. And finally 6weeks ago I had enough and went with my gut to just replace the whole circuit that was affected. I have broken down a total of 5 times since the problem started each time costing me around 3k and about 3 weeks to get parts. This go around I will have about 30k into it. Parts have been coming in wrong and The worst part about this whole ordeal is the parts are heavy so alot is coming truck freight and its coming from the mid west/east coast so freight and shipping takes atleast a week everytime something is wrong. The rig is 2hrs from home right now. The new parts i am using are updated so some of it doesn’t fit correct. There has been days where I drive out to only get to work for 20min because I need to test fit something or something doesn’t fit right I am exhausted and frustrated but trying to keep my head up. Well drilling has to be one of the most unique and under appreciated industries. People dont understand why it take so long to get parts to work on the rigs. There use to there cars or side by sides having parts in town. There is almost no two rigs the same because a lot are custom ordered to fit the company and location.
Anyway I could go on and on but at the end of the day I just want to get back to drilling so I can serve my community with this knowledge I have been blessed with and spent almost the last 16years obtaining. Thank you to everyone who has been patiently waiting.
