The Johnson City Fire Department recently honored 2 of the E. Luke Greene employees, Randy Hatley and Mart Breland, for their heroic actions on November 11, 2025.

Upon spotting a fire from the shop yard, Randy and Mart rushed to the scene. Without gear or hesitation, they entered the burning home to rescue an elderly man and his dog. The homeowner was on the phone with 911 at the time. Although the heat was intense enough to melt the socks on his feet, Randy and Mart successfully brought him and his dog companion to safety.

John 15:13 reminds us that there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for a friend; in this case, Randy and Mart did so for a stranger.

Please join me in thanking Randy and Mart. We are incredibly proud and thankful to have them as part of the ELG team.
