πŸ πŸ’¦ Are you noticing unsightly brown tea-colored stains on your ceilings, especially above your kitchen and bathrooms? These could be tell-tale signs of water damage, often caused by leaks where your ventilation pipes protrude through the roof! 🚰

These pipes are protected by something called Pipe Flashingβ€”a seal that stops water from sneaking into the gaps. But this rubber seal isn't forever youngβ€”it can dry rot over 15-20 years. And sometimes, during a re-roofing project, the flashing might not get replaced. 🏚️

So, if you're already considering a roof replacement due to leakage or aging, I want to remind youβ€”regular maintenance and timely repairs can save you thousands of dollars! Make sure every part of your roofing, including the Pipe Flashing, is in good shape and properly installed. πŸ’ͺ

πŸ πŸ”¨ While metal ridge caps have been a staple in roofing for some time, recent developments and persistent issues suggest they may now be an outdated product. Here's why:

1️⃣ Leakage Issues: Metal ridge caps can often lead to leaks if not sealed properly or if the ridge vents aren't installed correctly. Ensuring a watertight seal is critical to preventing water damage inside your home.

2️⃣ Installation Problems: Improper installation of the ridge cap can create problems, especially with water entry points. If water can't find an exit point, it could lead to unseen damage beneath the roofing material.

3️⃣ Inferior Weather Seal: Poorly installed or inferior metal ridge caps can result in a poor weather seal over the roof. This can cause complications for homeowners and business owners alike.

The most significant issue, however, lies in the fastening system. The fastening system of this style of ridge cap exposes nails that are smooth shank. Metal, like any other material, expands and contracts with temperature changes, a phenomenon known as oil canning. Over time, as the metal 'oil cans' or buckles due to these temperature fluctuations, the nails begin to pop out. After about 15 to 20 years of expansion and contraction, you'll start to see the nails looking like they're popping out.

While advancements are being made in roofing technology, these issues highlight why metal ridge caps might be seen as an outdated solution. Always consider the pros and cons before making your roofing decisions and consult with a trusted professional. Stay safe and dry, friends! β˜”πŸ‘

There's a reason why homeowners turn to me as their general contractor when they're dealing with an insurance loss. I'm proud to have a reputation as one of the best in the country at holding insurance companies accountable for what a property truly deserves to be made whole after storm damage.

Recently, I worked on a file relating to a hail damage claim. Big Red (State Farm) initially provided an estimate that fell significantly short of what was needed. But we didn't settle for that - we secured an additional $12,000 to make the property right.

How did we achieve this? The answer is simple: we understand construction. With over 15 years in the restoration industry and as a General Contractor in multiple states, I’ve made it my business to master the building codes and the process of construction.

While many homeowners can spot the visible damage, few have the specialized knowledge to understand what lies beneath the surface, and even fewer know the laws surrounding property loss. That’s where I come in. As your Insurance Loss Expert, it's my job to guide you through this process, ensuring you receive the correct settlement and restore your home better than any other contractor out there.

Don't settle for under-trained contractor "salespeople" or the adjuster's claims about what's damaged and what isn't. Reach out to us at Prescription Roofing today for expert guidance.

Hello everyone,

We've recently been given the opportunity to assist a local business owner - who happens to be my regular dentist - with an insurance claim process. During a recent visit, we noticed water stains on the office ceiling, a silent testament to a storm-damaged roof.

Unbeknownst to the staff, several shingles had gone missing due to recent storms. As part of our commitment to our clients, we promptly applied temporary methods to seal the roof, preventing further interior damage while the insurance adjuster handles the settlement.

Just as medical professionals prescribe solutions for health issues, we at RX offer the right 'prescriptions' for your roofing needs. If you've noticed missing shingles or other roof damages, don't hesitate to give RX a call. We will assess your situation and provide the most suitable solution for your roof.

Stay safe, and remember, we're here to ensure your workplace stays dry and secure!

Dear USAA Insurance Carrier,

I trust this message finds you in good health. I am writing concerning the recent claim assessment carried out by your team and the subsequent siding replacement executed based on the recommendations provided.

We ordered the siding, as per your team's advice, in a minimum order of two square (distributors Minimum), according to standard procedures. However, upon completion of the installation, it became apparent that the color of the new siding does not match the existing one. This mismatch has resulted in an aesthetic imbalance that is not compliant regarding reasonable appearance for property exteriors.

We have attached several photographs for your perusal that clearly illustrate the discrepancy between the existing and new sidings. The current state of the property does not meet the standards set forth by our state laws, which mandate a uniform and pleasing appearance for all residential properties.

In light of these circumstances, we are formally requesting a reevaluation of the claim with consideration to replace all elevations on the home. We believe this step is imperative to ensure the property's compliance with state laws and maintain its aesthetic value.

Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. We hope for a swift resolution that will allow us to rectify the situation and uphold the standards of quality and legality.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter and look forward to resolving this issue swiftly and efficiently.

Best regards,

Brandon Cervoni

🌞 Good afternoon, everyone! I'm Roof Rescue Brandon , and today I have a πŸ’‘ Pro Tip for you about Deck Mount Skylights.

Deck Mount Skylights are a fantastic addition to any home, flooding rooms with natural light. 🌀️ But maintaining your roof's integrity when you have them in place can be a challenge. Here's why:

πŸ”Ž As you can see with this Bubble Style Roof Window, there is no space to install flashing. This leaves the only defense against water 🌧️ being the sealant used and the expertise of the person applying it.

πŸ’Š Our prescription when you have these style of windows? Remove and replace them as soon as possible, especially when replacing your roof system. This common roof window problem can generate thousands of dollars πŸ’° in costs when you need to maintain or repair after the fact.

So, always be sure to ask the detailed questions when replacing your most valuable asset – your home. 🏑

Stay wise. Stay informed. πŸ“š
